Get Involved. Do Good. Have a Ball.

Dear Friends,

As the 80^th President of the Santa Monica Junior Chamber (Jaycees) this year, I encourage you to GET INVOLVED and truly make a difference in the Community you live in.

For example, you could:

• Read over a fact sheet during your lunch break that might help you spot a friend at risk of depression, and help them get the help they need.

• Take your lunch to work just four days a month, and give a local non-profit organization the tools and advice they need to help people rebuild their lives, or provide hot meals to the homeless on the West Side of Los Angeles County.

• Hang out and have fun for a few hours each week, and change a child's life by providing valuable friendship and advice.

You have everything you already need to make a difference. With your valuable skill-set and the odd bit of spare cash now and then, there are hundreds of amazing organizations you can get involved with to help make your community and its vulnerable members stronger and happier.

Here’s a little recap of the do-goodness and all the fun we’ve been having and are going to be having with the Santa Monica Jaycees.

Relay for Life is coming up on July 10th! This year, we are joining forces with the Rotary Club of Santa Monica as well as the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce.  For more info or if you would like to join our team, please email our Director of Community Development, Susan Nitao at susannitao@hotmail.com.  

Please also note that Huck Finn Day has been moved this year to early October.  More details will be provided as soon as it is available. 

Last but not least, our June mixer is next Wednesday, the 23rd @ 6pm to 8pm at the Viceroy in Santa Monica.  Come mix and mingle!

We are VERY proud of our Jaycee members who continue to lead by example while contributing back to the community we all share.
